Here is the 12z GFS.
I wouldn't put too much stock into it yet, as poorly as they all have been performing lately right? haha

Yeah the GFS is way overdoing this! Looks like Springfield Metro may get a dusting of snow.

Well temps will be in the mid-40's on Saturday so I highly doubt it will cool down in time for snow and if it did, the ground be too warm for it to stick like on this past Monday. I wouldn't get excited at all. We are well on our way to spring looking at long range forecasts!!!

We will just have to wait and see. Most of the systems later pushed south which could put us on the bullseye.

Re: Sunday Feb 14
So is there going to be much artic air after the Sunday event for Monday and Tuesday? Some forecasts I have read has highs in the mid to upper 20's for Monday and Tuesday with lows in the lower teens. Then other forecasts like KSPR has upper 30's to around 40. The GFS models show the freezing line all the way to the gulf coast till at least Wednesday of next week meaning very cold temps for the start of the week.

The updated GFS map has less snowfall across the NE part of the viewing area. I just don't think this system is going to be extremely significant. It looks to track just a bit to far north east of us.

Everyone like I said at the beginning of the month winter is over. We have seen the last of the winter storms for the ozarks.

Doc scoreboard, I nailed the storm from last week I have a great handle for the rest of the winter. I have an 80% accuracy rate for the last 15 years. Bottom line no more winter storms this winter!!

Yeah, all Hailey is trying to do is stir up trouble and make people mad. That's all he or she has done since he or she started writing on the forum. I say we just ignore what Hailey says and not give him or her any attention and maybe he or she will quit.

Hailey, stop bragging. You do not control Mother Nature. It looks like the recent model runs are pointing to a Winter Storm next Thursday night and Friday. We still have over a month of Winter left, so saying there aren't going to be any more Winter Storms is ridiculous in my opinion.

People said I was stupid when I predicited 3 inches or less with the last storm when the models was painting 12+ inches all across the ozarks. Everyone why are you attacking me? Im just giving my opinion, jusst like eveyone else. Im not a trained metoerologist don't rely on my forecasts rely on the folks at KSPR!

Re: Sunday Feb 14
Hailey forecasts are usually for the Springfield area and has been right lately. Springfield area has had only one decent winter storm this year and that was only 6 inches. All of these dusting to one inch snows aren't really considered anything. Let him say winter storms are over and until the Springfield area gets another 6+ inch storm, then we can't really say he is wrong. Also the GFS for Friday, Feb. 19th storm is looking like more of a rain event or snow melting on the ground due to warm surface temps.

I totally understand how the comments get under your skin. And even though I don't think people should be mean or rude to Hailey I do think her/his comments have a taunting and rude tone to them sometimes. Hailey I think that if your post didn't sound like "Ha ha I told you so" or "I am better than everyone here" then no one would be upset. Like Greatness said...everyone needs to just let the comments brush off your shoulders and ignore them. That's just my opinion.

Weatherplus, I don't understand your definition of a storm. You say that an inch of snow isn't a storm, but in the spring and summer one crack of thunder is called a thunderstorm. I feel that in weather terminology anything is called a storm if it drops moisture from the sky. No one can have a double standard when talking about the weather. If 1/4" of rain in a thunderstorm is a storm, then 1-2" of snow is also. Just my opinion.

Hailey, for all I know you may be right. However, I still think that the winter storms are not done for the Ozarks. We still have the remainder of this month, all of March and all of April to get through. February and March are our winter months for receiving our deepest snowstorms. And as I said, they can even happen in April. And if I may add, I just don't see how anyone or any computer could possibly know for absolute certainty whether the storms are done or are not done for us. That my friend is something that only GOD in Heaven above knows. It's okay to take a guess. But just because you got the last storm right doesn't necessarily mean that the rest of your predictions will be right. Yes you do have the right to speak your opinions just like the rest of us here. But please do us a favor and stop boasting and bragging.
The bottom line is winter will only be over for the Ozarks when GOD says it's over. And until then, the storms - minor or major - will continue to impact the Ozarks in some manner, way, shape or form.

The 12Z GFS run of today showed us getting a lot of snow next Friday. I'm interested to see if the next couple of runs show the same!

Re: Sunday Feb 14
NixaDorothy, that is fine if you want to say 1 inch of snow is a winter storm or hearing thunder. I understand the basic terms in weather. I just consider a storm being something significant whether it be a big snow, heavy icing, severe weather and such. A light dusting of snow or a quarter inch of rain with a clap or two of thunder doesn't really excite me enough to say wow what a storm!!
Still not getting excitied about next Friday's weather event. Yeah the models are going overboard as usual, but I have yet to see any weather site say anything more then a very minor event. The models will start downplaying as we get into the middle of next week. I hope it turns into something big, but it is very unlikely.

And you know this how Hailey? You get mad at us for saying your forcast is wrong but how is it ok for you to tell someone that they are wrong? Do you enjoy picking fights with everyone or what?
